New images for picture book Andean Traditions

The project to reassert the Andean traditions is being executed at this moment. In the communities Ayma and Piñani, Chakana recorded video material of a couple of impressive ceremonies. These two communities are being considered to be an example for the region. Chakana is now developing a movie about these traditions and ceremonies, which will be ready soon and will be shown in several villages.
 

Besides the movie, Chakana is also working on the realisation of an antropological picture book. The images for this book are collected during various sessions in Ayma and Piñani.
 

Last Sunday, Chakana visited Ayma. During this visit, a couple of images were developed and given to the community. The pictures were received with enthusiasm and will be placed in the community centre.
 

The villagers became enthusiastic after seeing the printed images and allowed Chakana to take more pictures. The picture book will be made especially for the communities. It will be ready in November and it will be given to several communities in the region.
